NELSON MANDELA

Completou-se, no passado dia 11 de Fevereiro, 20 anos que Nelson Mandela foi libertado após 28 anos de prisão.

Activista pela liberdade, apesar de ter sido considerado terrorista pelo então regime de apartheid da África do Sul e consequentemente preso em 1962. Nelson Mandela personifica a segregação dos negros e a luta contra esse regime.

Para além da luta pelos Direitos Humanos, personificou após a sua libertação: a humildade, a união e o perdão para com aqueles que tanto humilharam o Povo Sul Africano.

Em 1994 foi-lhe entregue o Prémio Nobel da PAZ!

“Eu sou o Senhor do meu destino

Eu sou o Capitão da minha alma”

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,
